What changes from town to town
Who issues the septic permit
Every Simcoe municipality runs its own septic permits. Tiny uses Tatham Engineering as its approval agent; the others handle it in their own building department. See the Simcoe County septic permit guide.
Conservation authority or not
Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Oro-Medonte and Barrie sit in the NVCA watershed (Barrie and Oro-Medonte also touch the LSRCA). Tiny, Tay, Midland and Penetanguishene have no conservation authority at all. See NVCA permits.
The ground itself
Sand in Tiny and Wasaga, escarpment clay and rock around Collingwood, Canadian Shield granite toward Tay and Severn. The ground decides the machine, the septic bed and the price.
Building a whole house, not just the site?
Georgian Bay Siteworks is the site work division of ICFHome.ca, a Tarion-approved custom ICF home builder. Same crew, same equipment, one phone number.
